• The aircraft

I’ll taking the Flylight Drag-0-Nine. this SSDR aircraft has evolved over the years, it was originally a DragonChaser powered by a polini thor250 engine. With a Flylight Nine wing, a polini303 and several trike modifations its become the Drag-0-Nine. this aircraft is competition focused so doesnt have the luggage capacity required to fly to Poland so it will travel derigged in my campervan.

  • where we are going

We are going to Rudniki airfield (EPRU) in the region Nowy Tomyśl in Poland. its central poland, about 250 from the german border and 900miles from calais. 120miles south west of the capital Warsaw. Its a largely flat agricultural area.

  • In the beginning………

So what are we doing, and why are we doing it?

We (teamGB microlight team, or at least 4 of us) are going to Poland to take part in the Polish Open. Nothing really wrong with that, its a nice country and the people are friendly, but there is more to it than that. the Polish Open, is being held at Rudniki airfield, and this where the FAI 2027 World microlight championship will take place.

the idea is to get a sneak preview of that it might be like, and what the terrain around Rudniki is like to fly over.
